Psychotherapy

"It must be made clear that the psychotherapeutic process, by its very nature, is not the treatment of an illness but an adventure of self-exploration and self-discovery."

Stanislav Grof

In addition to behavioral therapy, systemic therapy and psychoanalysis, psychotherapy based on depth psychology is one of the scientifically recognized guideline procedures and is therefore financed by health insurance companies.

Psychotherapy based on depth psychology is essentially about understanding how an inner unconscious conflict leads to a crisis and triggers a mental illness. The orientation is not to make the symptoms disappear as quickly as possible, but to see them as an expression of that inner conflict that inhibits natural growth; and your own self-development. Symptoms can include phobias, compulsions, truancy, depression, or self-regulation difficulties such as angry outbursts or self-injurious behavior. In therapy, I support you or your child in turning towards and accepting your inner experience with curiosity and benevolence in order to release developmental blockages and find a better sense of well-being and quality of life.

The treatment focuses on coping with the current life situation. Together we explore how biographical events, such as early childhood relationship experiences and possible trauma, are related to the current difficulties.

The therapeutic setting offers the opportunity to engage in self-exploration in a safe space.

When working with children, exploration is playful and appropriate to their age.
